Released York City midfielder Levi Mackin has joined Blue Square Bet Premier newcomers Alfreton Town in a one-year deal.

He becomes the second York player to sign for them over the summer following on from centre-back Greg Young.

Mackin was released by the Minstermen last month after making 70 appearances and scoring twice in two-and-a-half years at Bootham Crescent. He played in both of their recent Wembley finals.

Prior to York, the 25-year-old former Welsh Under-21 international had spells with Droylsden and Wrexham.
