A disappointing couple of days in the FA Cup was maintained for York City as their youth side crashed out 5-0 in their second round tie against Northampton Town at Sixfields.

Sixteen-year-old Ivan Toney scored four goals for the hosts after already making history earlier this week when becoming their youngest-ever player during their FA Cup first round replay defeat at Bradford City.

That followed another with senior experience, David Moyo, firing his side into the lead just after the half-hour. Toney then both won and converted a penalty right on the stroke of half-time.

He went on to add three more goals during the second-half as the hosts registered a fifth straight win and sixth clean sheet in a row - to earn themselves a third round meeting with either Canvey Island or AFC Totton.

Curzon Ashton 4 York City 1

York City produced a shockingly atrocious performance while crashing 4-1 to lowly part-timers Curzon Ashton at the Tameside Stadium.

Home striker Niall Cummins claimed a first-half hat-trick having already seen a penalty saved by the outstanding Adam Bartlett, with Sam Walker adding to it after the break.

The visitors then had leading goalscorer Jon Parkin given a straight red card before new signing Alex Kempster impressively replied on his debut after coming off the bench.
