No recall for Smith

On loan midfielder Jonathan Smith continues to remain at Luton Town despite rumours of a possible return to York City.

"If they want him back then he has to go back" - Paul Buckle
The 26-year-old is in the Hatters' squad for their weekend visit of Alfreton Town. There had been thoughts he may be recalled early after York recently lost the services of on loan Peterborough United midfielder Danny Kearns.

"I've got a decent relationship with Gary Mills, so we're speaking all the time," Luton boss Paul Buckle told Dunstable Today. "I spoke to Gary this week about it and it's something that the two clubs will talk about in the next couple of weeks.

"If they want him back then he has to go back," he continued. "If we got some injuries and I had someone out on loan, you'd have to take them back so York are being fair, we're being fair back, and the best thing in all situations is you keep communicating."

Preston-born Smith has made three league appearances for Luton so far since arriving at Kenilworth Road at the beginning of last month. He previously managed thirteen games for the Minstermen after returning to the club last summer.
