Reaction pleases York boss

York City boss Gary Mills was pleased at the response following last week's defeat at Plymouth Argyle after his side thumped four first-half goals past Bristol Rovers at Bootham Crescent.

"In the last three games, we've taken six points and scored seven goals" - Gary Mills
Ashley Chambers scored twice alongside Jason Walker and a Garry Kenneth own-goal as the Minstermen recorded a first win in five home games. And their 4-1 scoreline was sufficient for their opponents to relieve manager Mark McGhee of his duties immediately following the game.

"We've addressed this week about being on the front foot and making it difficult for teams," Mills told BBC Radio York. "Within half an hour, we've done what we've done.

"Obviously we're disappointed to concede straight after we've scored, but we bounced back again straight away and what good goals they were," he added. "In the last three games, we've taken six points and scored seven goals. The players have deserved that today."

York entertain current leaders Gillingham next Saturday.
