Mills fancies New Year sales

York City boss Gary Mills has confirmed he will be strengthening his squad during the January transfer window.

"There are players on the radar that we talk about and we watch" - Gary Mills
But Mills admitted the likelihood is he must release some of his existing group in order to help finance any incomings.

The Minstermen currently find themselves short of their original minimum play-off target, although only by four points at present, and will undoubtedly be keen to add to their options next month.

"My budget situation is there would have to be a couple going out again to get the right one or two in," Mills told The Press. "It's not just a situation where I can go and pick three or four players because the money is there to do it. It's not.

"I have to wheel and deal - as in getting players out on loan or moving on permanently," he added. "Yes, I would like to make a couple of changes. Yes, I would like to strengthen us. In finding those couple of players, there are players on the radar that we talk about and we watch."
