Northern Ireland Under-21 skipper Patrick McLaughlin is searching for a little bit of revenge this weekend when York City visit Fleetwood Town.

"If you add up all those little points, we could be right up there in the play-offs" - Patrick McLaughlin
The Minstermen completely dominated the first half-hour of the earlier meeting between the two sides, missing a number of chances until their visitors eventually ran out 2-0 winners at Bootham Crescent.

As it turns out that has actually proved the way of things on a number of occasions so far this season for York - a fact readily acknowledged by their 21-year-old former Newcastle United playmaker.

"We battered Fleetwood for the first half-hour back in October and could have been 4-0 or 5-0 up," McLaughlin told The Press. "We then got hit by a sucker punch just before half-time and ended up losing 2-0. But, hopefully, we will put that right and get a result.

"If we look back over the first half of the season, there have been games where we have come off with a draw thinking we should have won and others that we have lost and should have drawn," he continued. "If you add up all those little points, we could be right up there in the play-offs so. If we can sort that out and be more consistent, we can go up the table and achieve better things."

York City produced another well-below par performance in a 1-1 draw with a decent Kidderminster Harriers side at Bootham Crescent and continue to slip further behind the leaders.

Skipper Ryan Croasdale had earned the visitors a deserved advantage midway through the opening half, but leading goalscorer Jon Parkin's superb free-kick cancelled it out before the interval.

Manager Martin Gray earlier named an unchanged starting line-up with the returning Tyler Walton replacing Theo Wha
