York City boss Gary Mills praised the effort of his players over the Christmas period following their comprehensive 3-0 victory against Burton Albion at Bootham Crescent.

"I think the players have been incredible over the Christmas period" - Gary Mills
Striker Jason Walker's seventh goal of the season from the penalty spot was later added to by Patrick McLaughlin and Matty Blair as the hosts put in a convincing shift to move up to fourteenth in the table.

"I think the players have been incredible over the Christmas period," a very satisfied Mills told BBC Radio York. "Although we've only picked up four points out of the nine, I think performance-wise it's been excellent.

"The two clean sheets in the last two games have enabled us to go on and pick up points," he added. "I thought we were excellent, I really did, and I'm just pleased for everybody."
