Chambers blow for City

York City have suffered a major injury blow with news that striker Ashley Chambers is expected to be ruled out for up to
six weeks.

"Ash needs an operation on his stomach and we will be without him for four to six weeks" - Gary Mills
Top scorer Chambers has already scored eight times this season but has missed the last three games with a torn stomach muscle.

"Ash needs an operation on his stomach in the next few days and we will be without him for four to six weeks," manager Gary Mills told The Press.

The confirmed loss of Chambers will in turn probably see the Minstermen extending the current loan of Alex Rodman from Aldershot Town, especially as they are also without fellow forwards Michael Coulson and Oli Johnson at the present time.

"We haven't got an abundance of strikers available at the moment so I would like to try to keep him," Mills added. "I'm still waiting to speak to Dean Holdsworth to find out whether he will let him come back though and we might have no choice in the matter."
