We were tremendous - Mills

York City manager Gary Mills was full of praise for his players after coming from behind to earn a late draw at promotion-chasers Cheltenham Town.

"If we had gone away from here today without anything it would have been hard on my players" - Gary Mills
Striker Jason Walker snatched a late equaliser to cancel out Shaun Harrad's second-half opener in an always well-contested affair at Whaddon Road.

That proved sufficient for the visitors to avoid defeat against last year's play-off finalists for the second time this season.

Their result was all the more credible as the Minstermen had centre-back David McGurk carried off immediately following the concession of Harrad's 67th minute goal. He ended the afternoon wearing a protective neck brace after suffering spasms in his neck.

"I thought my lads were tremendous today," Mills told BBC Radio York. "It was a great finish from Shaun Harrad to put us a goal behind but I thought our response was immense.

"I thought we were on the front foot as soon as we conceded the goal and again, I've said it many times, if we had gone away from here today without anything it would have been hard on my players," he added. "I'm delighted for them, delighted for our football club that we've got another big point here at Cheltenham."
