'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Taking something was important - Mills

York City manager Gary Mills was forced to settle for another point after his side were held to a 0-0 draw by Aldershot Town at Bootham Crescent.

"You make sure you keep a clean sheet and the worst you can have is a point" - Gary Mills
Both sides struggled to raise the freezing temperature in a disappointing clash in which defences firmly came out on top with neither goalkeeper seriously troubled.

"They made it hard for us by pressing very, very high, they didn't give us the opportunity to maybe play from the back as much as we'd like to and it wasn't a great game," Mills told BBC Radio York. "But when it's not a great game and when things aren't going how you really want them to go, you make sure you keep a clean sheet and the worst you can have is a point and that's what's happened today.

"We haven't won at home and that's disappointing of course, but it's another valuable point and we have to keep picking up points especially when we don't play particularly well," he added.

The Minstermen will certainly require serious improvement next weekend when travelling to face former leaders Gillingham for the first time this season.
