York City have snapped up Blackburn Rovers centre-back Jack O'Connell on a one-month loan deal.

The eighteen-year-old impressed for the Minstermen during the behind-closed-doors reserve friendly against Scunthorpe United at Bootham Crescent on Tuesday afternoon.

O'Connell had an earlier loan spell this season while making five appearances at local rivals Rotherham United.

The England Under-19 international is yet to make his senior debut at Rovers but is already highly-rated at Ewood Park.
