York City remain keen on a couple more Irish talents despite their latest signing of former Derry City striker David McDaid.

"Both players certainly did well and we'll see if something might happen before the transfer window closes" - Gary Mills
The Minstermen have also recently had one-time Northern Ireland Under-21 international and Aberdeen left-back Dean Jarvis, 20, and ex-Northern Ireland Under-19 and Newcastle United forward Michael McCrudden, 21, training with them

Both are currently with Institiute FC, an IFA Championship 1 club based in the Drumahoe area of Derry, Northern Ireland, and were due to play for York in a friendly against Sunderland last week, until the bad weather forced its cancellation.

However, York could be facing some serious competition for the pair with a host of Irish clubs and a mid-table English Premier League side in particular tracking the highly-rated Jarvis.

"They both done well, so yes something might happen before the deadline next week," York manager Gary Mills told the Londonderry Sentinel. "Unfortunately the snow disrupted our preparations, we had arranged a game against Sunderland, but that was cancelled because of the weather. But both players certainly did well and we'll see if something might happen before the transfer window closes."
