York City striker Jamie Reed is having talks with Conference play-off chasers Kidderminster Harriers after the two clubs settled on a fee.

"He is having talks with Kidderminster and we've agreed a fee" - Gary Mills
The 25-year-old has failed to establish himself in the starting line-up this season and been mainly restricted to coming off the bench while scoring four times in seventeen appearances.

Reed originally joined York from Bangor City for a undisclosed five-figure fee a couple of years ago and promptly scored nine goals in 24 games. He improved on that in his first full campaign for the club with ten in 36 appearances while featuring as a late substitute in both famous Wembley triumphs.

"He is having talks with Kidderminster because they have come in for him and we've agreed a fee," manager Gary Mills told The Press. "Reedy wants to go because he doesn't want to be a substitute but, for me, that`s been his strength and it's made him popular at this football club.

"If he goes, I will wish him all the best and he will leave having been a major part in helping us get to the point where we are playing teams like Gillingham," he added. "But you have to move on and make major decisions that might not be popular."

Kidderminster are currently fifth in the Conference and seeking a replacement for the highly-rated Jamille Matt after Fleetwood Town recently paid a club record fee.
