York City utility man Daniel Parslow is "worth his weight in gold" according to manager Gary Mills.

"He is worth his weight in gold for this football club" - Gary Mills
The 27-year-old former Welsh Under-21 international stepped into the left-back position for the battling draw at title-chasers Gillingham last weekend after previously appearing both on the opposite flank and in his more usual central defensive capacity, in addition to a holding role in midfield and even occasionally as an emergency striker.

"Mr Reliable stepped in and put in an incredible performance at left-back," Mills told The Press "If Jamal [Fyfield] is fit, which I think he will be, then Pars will keep his place. He was solid, he looked like he thrived on the position and he deserves to stay there.

"He is an unbelievable, committed player. His commitment is incredible, as is his desire," he continued. "He is worth his weight in gold for this football club. As a manager, I love him to death because he is totally what you are after - with the desire and with the commitment and that has got to come first before anything."

Parslow has already made over 250 senior appearances for the Minstermen since arriving from Cardiff City six-and-a-half years ago, while twice winning their supporters' clubman of the year award.
