Mills issues warning to players

York City boss Gary Mills has called for his players to stand up and be counted following their latest 4-0 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers.

"We're committing suicide at the moment, we're giving goals away and don't look like scoring" - Gary Mills
The Minstermen collapsed for the second weekend in succession to increase the prospects of a late relegation battle after conceding two soft first-half penalties at Adams Park.

Those were both comfortably despatched by Dean Morgan before Joel Grant and Dave Winfield added second-half efforts as the Chairboys ran out easy winners.

In contrast the visitors forced only a solitary save by home goalkeeper Jordan Archer from substitute Alex Rodman just before the end, although top scorer Jason Walker had earlier wasted an excellent chance.

"We were obviously very disappointing from start to finish today," Mills told BBC Radio York. "We're committing suicide at the moment, we're giving goals away and don't look like scoring.

"We'll get ready for the next one and move on," he added. "The players that are at this football club now have to stand up and start winning football matches."

Faltering York now have a couple of absolutely crucial home games over the next week against former leaders Gillingham and fellow strugglers Barnet.
