Conference returns to the Crescent

York City's Bootham Crescent stadium will once again be hosting a Blue Square Bet Premier fixture next month.

Relegation-threatened Gateshead are to meet title-chasing Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday 5th March as their own International Stadium pitch is currently unplayable and their alternative venue of Hartlepool United's Victoria Park unavailable.

"We are extremely grateful to York City for offering to stage our game," chairman Graham Wood told Gateshead's official website. "It is a great gesture. Obviously York is further away from Tyneside but it is the closest ground we could get that satisfied Blue Square Bet Premier standard."

The Minstermen also recently staged a Conference North fixture when Harrogate Town defeated Workington 3-1 earlier this month.
