Wimbledon facing the unknown

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley admitted he had little idea of how York City will approach their big clash at the weekend.

"It is not great timing from our point of view" - Neal Ardley
The Minstermen travel to Kingsmeadow under the new leadership of Nigel Worthington after replacing former boss Gary Mills earlier this week.

That particular scenario was brought about by a dismal recent run of eleven games without a victory leaving the visitors just four points above the Dons at the foot of the table.

Wimbledon have already twice defeated their latest opponents this season but Ardley readily conceded his side were facing something of a tentative step into the unknown this time around.

"York have a new manager and it is his first week in charge," he told AFC Wimbledon's official website. "You could take the reports from their recent games and rip them up because they will not have any bearing on how they are going to play.

"They are obviously going to be motivated by a new manager and it will stoke them up," Ardley warned. "It is not great timing from our point of view, but we have to take control of our performance levels and that is what we have to focus on."
