Minstermen sign international winger

York City manager Nigel Worthington has made his second signing by recruiting Northern Ireland international Josh Carson on a month's loan from Ipswich Town.

The nineteen-year-old winger actually began the season as a regular in their side after agreeing a new two-year deal and with the option of a third at Portman Road last March.

Carson has though struggled for regular action at Ipswich since the arrival of Mick McCarthy as manager last November but still totals 33 senior appearances and five goals for the club.

Last August he represented his country for the fourth time at full international level in a 3-3 draw with Finland after originally making his debut under Worthington against the Republic of Ireland back in May 2011. Prior to that he was a regular at Under-21 level.

Worthington last week brought in 23-year-old reserve goalkeeper Arron Jameson from his former club Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the season.
