Morecambe set for changes

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley is expected to make changes for the New Year's Day visit to York City.

"We looked a bit heavy legged which is no surprise considering what the lads have been through" - Jim Bentley
The Shrimps experienced mixed fortunes over Christmas with a first-ever Football League victory over Fleetwood Town being followed by a disappointing home defeat
to a revitalised Hartlepool United side.

Following their visit to Bootham Crescent, Morecambe face the long trek to Torquay United at the weekend and Bentley is therefore set to rotate his squad. Ryan Williams could return from a tight hamstring but Andy Wright and Marcus Marshall remain sidelined. Jack Sampson netted as a substitute last time out and may start after a recent knee problem.

"I'm going to have to make one or two changes because one or two looked blown up on Sunday," Bentley told the Lancaster Guardian. "We looked a bit heavy legged which is no surprise considering what the lads have been through.

"I'm just a little bit worried, we`re a little bit stretched and we've got a few injuries," he continued. "It's hard but we'll just keep plugging away. The league is that tight but we're looking forward to the challenge."
