York City Ladies returned to winning ways with a 5-0 victory against Lepton Highlanders at York College on Sunday afternoon.

It marked revenge following a 2-0 defeat to the same opposition at the beginning of last month - one of three successive losses in which York had failed to score.

This time around Ellie Harding netted twice for the hosts and was also named as player of the game. Jazz Whitwell similarly claimed a brace while skipper Sara Renfrew added a fifth.

Meanwhile, City's reserves crushed Huntington Ladies 13-0 at home in the earlier kick-off. Emily Dingley (2) Krista Richardson (2), Louise Ross (2), Becca Dawson (2), Natasha Mortimer (2), Kira Robinson and Jenna Strain were on target, in addition to an own-goal.

York City Ladies: Chloe Precious, Ellie Harding, Ruth Brazier, Nicola Brown, Josie Hewson, Beth Clayton, Sara Renfrew, Lauren Shuttleworth, Alicia Smith, Abbi Webster, Jazz Whitwell

subs: Megan Bramham, Becca Dawson, Emily Dingley
