York City Ladies were defeated by Women's Super League side Doncaster Rovers Belles in their friendly at York College.

Alicia Smith and Megan Bramham were both on target as the hosts eventually went down to a 6-2 reversal to a team managed by twice former York City 'Clubman of the Year' Gordon Staniforth. He named home goalkeeper Chloe Precious as their player of the game.

Meanwhile, City's reserves were victorious by a 5-2 scoreline at bottom club Fishburn Park Ladies. Goalscorers for the visitors were Natasha Mortimer, Louise Ross, Jodie Curry, Krista Richardson and player of the game Ellie Randall.

That strengthened their hold on third place in the table after nearest challengers Stokesley drew 1-1 at leaders Redcar Town.
