Midfielder Cameron Murray has signed his first professional contact at York City.

Born in Halifax, the eighteen-year-old spent time with both Leeds United and Bradford City until moving to Spain on a scholarship in September 2011.

He subsequently joined the Minstermen upon his return and made an early impression for them when setting up Ryan Bowman for a late equaliser in a pre-season friendly draw with Sheffield United.

Murray was soon rewarded with his senior debut when appearing as a substitute in the 3-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy home defeat to Rotherham United last October.

Having alarmingly not kept a clean-sheet in any of their last nineteen games in all competitions - and 22 in the league - it's blatantly obvious where that improvement must begin as they welcome Notts County to Bootham Crescent this weekend.
