York City Ladies closed the gap on second-placed Hull City to a single point with a tremendous 2-0 victory at the Hull University Sports Ground on Sunday afternoon.

The Minsterbelles struck in each half through Jazz Whitwell and Lauren Shuttleworth while midfielder Nikki Brown was named as their player of the game.

Meanwhile, the reserves' scheduled game at Stokesley was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
