City Ladies maintain challenge

York City Ladies continue to challenge for the North East Regional Premier Division title with a narrow 1-0 victory at Hessle Town Ladies.

Jazz Whitwell was once again on the scoresheet to keep the visitors in second place in the table and now three points behind the leaders. Nikki Brown was named as their player of the match.

Meanwhile, City's reserves put seven goals without reply past Brompton Ladies in the North Riding Women's League at York College.

They remain third and only three points off the leadership courtesy of goals from Holly Smith (2), Rachel Harding (2), player of the game Ashlee Brack, Helen Dalby and Kristine Myrberg.
