York City manager Nigel Worthington could move for former loan winger Ryan Brobbel to fill the absence of Josh Carson.

"Anybody who comes in for that position would need to put a real shift in like Josh Carson" - Nigel Worthington
The Northern Ireland Under-21 international impressed during an earlier loan spell from Middlesbrough in which he scored three times in thirteen games, including twice during the 4-1 first-half demolition of high-flying Scunthorpe United.

Brobbel, 21, has since been on the bench for Boro but without making an appearance, although he remains highly-rated at the Riverside.

"He could be in the mix but I don't know if he's available and I would have to decide whether he could do enough for the side," Worthington told The Press . "Anybody who comes in for that position would need to put a real shift in like Josh Carson because we can't have somebody just standing out there and not doing the defensive side."
