Coulson handed lead role

In-form Michael Coulson will continue to lead the York City threat against bottom-of-the-table visitors Torquay United this evening.

"He's done really well and I think that's his number one position" - Nigel Worthington
The 25-year-old smashed home a superb weekend winner at Portsmouth and is to remain in a central role despite the absence of wideman Josh Carson through injury. Winger Coulson has scored three times in his last five games.

"He's done really well and I think that's his number one position. You have to be fair to the lad because he's working hard and doing a job for the team up there," manager Nigel Worthington told The Press. "You don't disrupt something when there's no need to disrupt it and he's finding little holes and looks dangerous."

Meanwhile, Coulson, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has indicated he would love to remain at Bootham Crescent.

"It's pretty obvious I want to stay at York but I don't want to talk about the contract situation too much and we will see what happens over the next few weeks."

The Minstermen will be bidding for a sixth successive victory and to reclaim a play-off spot after Southend United defeated Oxford United last night.
