Former York City winger Matty Blair felt his Fleetwood Town side should have won by a greater margin at Bootham Crescent.

"I actually thought I wasn't very good tonight" - Matty Blair
Blair eventually proved the difference between the two top-seven teams when forcing in Antoni Sarcevic's shot early in the second-half of their delayed play-off semi-final first-leg.

"It probably should have been more, I
had a good chance and Humey had a one-on-one, but you could argue the flipside that they had a few chances as well," he told Fleetwood's official website. "We're all very happy at the moment. It's nice to score in general whether it is a winner or whether just contributing in the game.

"I actually thought I wasn't very good tonight, first half I had a few bad passes and bad crosses and in the second half I got better," Blair continued. "I got my goal, but if I play bad and score every week you take that and we will go again."

However, York won't be too dismayed as they know they can perform much better and have already won at Fleetwood this season - one of six victories in their last eight games on their travels, none of which were lost.

Salford City 3 York City 2

York City appear to be left scrapping for a play-off place at best following a rather flattering 3-2 defeat at promotion rivals Salford City.

Skipper Liam Hogan - who scored for the hosts in the FA Cup meeting between the two clubs five weeks ago - netted in each half and either side of Jack Redshaw's long overdue strike.

Late replies from substitutes Louis Almond and Aidan Connolly simply masked another seriously inept performance from their opponents.
