York City Ladies have an opportunity to complete a glorious cup double as they take on Guiseley Ladies in the North East Regional League Cup final on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Lauren Shuttleworth and Lisa Bjornstad helped the Minsterbelles overcome Peterlee St Francis Ladies 2-1 in their semi-final last week.

City Ladies had already accounted for Lowick United 4-2 courtesy of Becca Dawson (2), Chantel Padgham and Louise Ross. That was despite trailing by two-goals at the interval.

The Belles then put seven goals without reply past Redcar Town after Ali Smith (2), Sara Renfrew, Jazz Whitwell, Abbi Webster, Nikki Brown and Shuttleworth each found the mark.

Guiseley have actually won both league meetings against York this season, with a 3-1 away win in November being followed by a narrow
3-2 home success four months later.

However, City will be in confident mood having already claimed the North Riding FA Cup in a dramatic penalty shoot-out triumph over Middlesbrough last month.

Their latest final is being held at The Pavilion, Storking Lane, Wilberfoss YO41 5ND and kicks-off at 2.00pm.
