York City chairman Jason McGill says the club's early transfer dealings give a clear indication of their ambitions for next season.

"It is important to plant down the marker for our ambitions for the coming season" - Jason McGill
The Minstermen have already recruited goalkeeper Jason Mooney (Tranmere Rovers) and left-back Femi Ilesanmi (Dagenham & Redbridge) since the end of last season, while Barnet striker Jake Hyde has also agreed personal terms and will be arriving on a three-year deal.

Added to those, popular forward Michael Coulson recently signed a new two-year contract at Bootham Crescent.

"We've brought in a goalkeeper, realising that to have that presence behind the back four adds value to the team," McGill told The Press. "We have brought in Femi at left-back and a lot of our players are pleased they won't be playing against him next season.

"We are talking to another player at the moment and we have signalled our intent to bring Jake Hyde into the club," he added. "We want to kick on from what we achieved last season and it is important to plant down the marker for our ambitions for the coming season."
