Former York City winger Ashley Chambers has joined League Two rivals Dagenham & Redbridge on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old had a previous loan spell with the Daggers from Cambridge United towards the later stages of last season.

Chambers actually managed six appearances without scoring until being recalled by his parent club as they successfully pushed for promotion from the Conference Premier.

He had earlier played well over a century of games for the Minstermen before moving to Cambridge in January - but was restricted to just six starts at the Abbey Stadium.
