York City striker Jake Hyde is looking to continue his progress having recently arrived at Bootham Crescent.

"It will be nice to be a part of a promotion push and I hope we can go up to League One" - Jake Hyde
The 23-year-old scored 26 times in 67 league appearances for Barnet over the past couple of seasons, until joining the Minstermen earlier this month.

And having returned to the Football League with a resurgent York outfit, he now intends to keep moving in the right direction and is already targeting another promotion challenge from them this season.

"The reason I left Barnet and signed for York is because they are in the Football League and Barnet aren't," Hyde told Get West London. "I have joined a very strong League Two outfit. I watched York a couple of times last season. They are a difficult team to beat.

"I think with a couple of new additions York will be right up there again," he continued. "It will be nice to be a part of a promotion push and I hope we can go up to League One as an extra little bonus."
