Good news on midfielder

New midfielder Luke Summerfield could yet make the big kick-off at Tranmere Rovers next month.

"We are targeting that he may have a part to play against Sheffield United" - Nigel Worthington
The 26-year-old former Shrewsbury Town playmaker has been struggling with minor ligament trouble in his knee but continues to make fast progress.

He could even be involved as early as the Sheffield United friendly the week prior to the opening day visit to Birkenhead.

"We are targeting, if everything goes well, that he may have a part to play against Sheffield United," manager Nigel Worthington confirmed in The Press. "It has settled down nicely in the last two or three days. We will be cautious and there will probably be a better assessment after the game against Nottingham Forest."
