Minstermen host old rivals

York City host Hull City in their latest pre-season friendly this evening (kick-off 7.30pm).

"We want to get the maximum we can from the game as we bring our full focus on Tranmere" - Nigel Worthington
The Minstermen were checking on the progress of goalkeeper Michael Ingham from a groin strain ahead of the meeting.

But Daniel Parslow, Wes Fletcher, Josh Carson and new midfielder Luke Summerfield remain out. Manager Nigel Worthington will therefore probably draft in a couple of youth players.

"As far as the game is concerned, we want to make sure we do well and get the maximum we can from the game as we bring our full focus on Tranmere," he told The Press. "Everything up to now, in the first three weeks, has been very, very good. Scotland was excellent and there was lots of good stuff. I am very pleased with the way it is shaping up."

Counterpart Steve Bruce has already promised to deliver a full squad, and so the likes of Tom Huddlestone and Tom Ince should be treading the Bootham Crescent surface.
