Rivals rocked again after Gray exit

Rivals rocked again after Gray exit

After the departure of manager Martin Gray to York City at the weekend, Darlington have confirmed that his successors Brian Atkinson and Sean Gregan have also left the club.

That follows discussions involving the National League and the respective boards of Darlington FC and Darlington FC Supporters Group, with Atkinson instructed he must stand down due to a possible conflict of interest with his role as a director at the Martin Gray Football Academy.

Meanwhile, Gregan has also decided to depart the club after requiring greater security than a contract running until the end of the current season.

Former York midfielder Phil Turnbull and fellow senior player Gary Brown are to take control of team affairs until a new manager is appointed.
