City youngster Jess in England squad

York City RTC's Under-16s' Jess Park has been named in the England squad for the opening round of UEFA Women's Euro Under-17 qualifiers.

Manager John Griffiths includes four players from Women's Super League 1 clubs Arsenal and Liverpool within the twenty-strong party travelling to Latvia next week.

Fellow top-flight outfits Manchester City, Chelsea, Birmingham City and Bristol City are similarly represented alongside leading York City RTC prospect Park - a South Hunsley & Sixth Form College Year 11 student.

The young Lionesses face ties against Scotland, Slovakia and hosts Latvia, with the top two nations in the round-robin competition then progressing into next spring's elite qualifying round.

The Euro finals are being held in Lithuania in May 2018.
