Former striker moves on
Former York City striker David Dowson has left National League North rivals Spennymoor Town.
The 29-year-old joins Northern League Division One outfit Consett on a permanent deal following a successful loan stay.
Dowson departs having struck a dozen goals in 54 appearances for the Moors, including eight during their play-off winning campaign in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division last season.
He previously played a handful of games for York having arrived on a short-term deal in September 2010, but was released by manager Gary Mills the following month.
The former Sunderland forward also had spells at Gateshead, Durham City and Darlington during his career.
