Striker move in doubt

Striker move in doubt

Darlington striker Mark Beck's move to York City appears to be in serious doubt after reports of a failed medical.

The 23-year-old looked set to follow manager Martin Gray and leading goalscorer David Ferguson to Bootham Crescent, especially after recent comments from Quakers CEO David Johnston that deals for Ferguson and Beck had net a "significant sum for the club from York City FC."

However, it transpires the former Carlisle United and Yeovil Town marksman has since failed a medical, according to The Northern Echo, who state the player has been carrying a knee injury since pre-season and is set to be out of action for another few weeks. They add the deal may have collapsed completely.

Beck instead attended his club's 1-1 draw with Stockport County at the weekend.
