Former midfielder gets new club

Former midfielder gets new club

Former York City midfielder Simon Lappin has signed for Evo-Stik League South outfit King's Lynn Town.

The 34-year-old ex-Norwich City playmaker made nine appearances for the Minstermen last season following his arrival in November 2016.

However, Lappin suffered a ruptured Achilles in the 1-1 draw with Maidstone United three months later and was released at the end of the campaign.

The former Scotland Under-21 international had earlier spells with St Johnstone, Cardiff City and St Mirren.

King's Lynn have also recruited his one-time Canaries colleague Grant Holt, 36, while already including ex-York forwards Ryan Jarvis and Michael Gash within their squad.
