Minstermites chase fourth success

Minstermites chase fourth success

York City's Under-18s will face Salford City in the FA Youth Cup third qualifying round next Tuesday evening (17th October) with a 7.00pm kick-off at Bootham Crescent.

The Minstermites have already accounted for neighbours Tadcaster Albion, Harrogate Town and Harrogate Railway Athletic in the competition.

City had opened proceedings with a comprehensive 4-0 triumph over Tadcaster courtesy of goals from Aaron Haswell (2), Josh Berry and Owen Marshall (OG).

They went even better against Harrogate Town in the next round; sixteen-year-old Ryan Edmondson, Haswell, Zac Lawrence, Harry Thompson and substitute Flynn McNaughton on target in a 5-0 romp.

Once again coming off the bench, McNaughton then scored another couple alongside latest first-team debutant Edmondson to finally take care of a determined Harrogate Railway 3-1 earlier this month.

Admission prices for the tie are £3 adults and £1 concessions.

York City produced another deeply uninspiring display while being held 1-1 by lowly part-timers Alfreton Town at Bootham Crescent.
