Video: Angry Gray warns of further changes

Manager Martin Gray admitted there would have to be further changes in playing personnel after York City crashed to a third home defeat of the season.

Reece Styche scored twice as visitors Tamworth ended their recent four-game losing sequence with a late 3-2 victory at Bootham Crescent.

The Minstermen had earlier fought back from two-goals down after Jon Parkin and debutant substitute Daniel Rowe were on target despite England 'C' international David Ferguson being sent-off.

"The mistakes were individual errors," Gray told BBC Radio York. "You can coach and put on structure of what you want - and we've worked very hard [in training] week in, week out. But you can't account for errors. We're making big errors and it's costing us massively.

"It's indiscipline. I'm not going to dig any players out live on air, I wouldn't do that - I do that behind closed doors," he continued. "But if you see the possession that we give away - and the players when they give the ball away under no pressure.

"That's what disappoints you because on the training ground where there's no pressure they keep the ball. But you've got to be able to deal with the pressure and expectations of York City. This club deserves better than that. It hurts.

"Things have got to change - personnel has got to change because if you don't then we'll never move forward," Gray warned. "I won't allow that to happen. I'm a very positive person. We've seen everything over four weeks now and things have got to change and personnel's got to change otherwise we'll never move forward.

"I'm the manager and pride myself very much on what we do on the training ground. And we work very hard on how we want to do things offensively and defensively. We've got to show some characters now and start listening and cut out the errors, because if we don't we won't ever be able to progress.

"We've got to improve the squad because I can see the same mistakes that we made against Brackley being made four games later," he railed. "And that's down to personnel, not what we do on the training ground Monday to Friday. That's down to personnel."

Meanwhile, French defender Hamza Bencherif missed the game having suffered a knock in training, but should be available for next weekend's home meeting with Curzon Ashton.

However, striker Louis Almond sustained a suspected shoulder injury after coming off the bench and will require close assessment this week.
