Video: Win was much needed - Parslow
Goalscorer Daniel Parslow reckoned his side were always in control against Curzon Ashton.
The 32-year-old Welshman headed what proved the winner after leading marksman Jon Parkin had earlier opened the scoring at Bootham Crescent. Joe Guest halved the deficit for the visitors following the break.
"We've been indifferent to say the least and it's nice to get back to winning ways," Parslow told BBC Radio York. "It was much needed. We've had some poor results of late and the result was all-important today.
"I thought we were on top for large spells," he continued. "They had a bit of play in front of us without really hurting us. But we were organised, quite disciplined and we scored our goals at the right time.
"I felt although they had spells of possession, we looked very dangerous on the counter-attack and could have got a third ourselves. We defended as a team very well and always looked a threat.
"I should get more [goals]," Parslow admitted. "It's nice to chip in. When you're thrown in that box you're as important as everyone else, so it's nice to get on the end of one. I knew as long as I got something on it, it was going to go in the net."
