Sixteen-year-old Jess makes Man City debut

Sixteen-year-old Jess makes Man City debut

Less than two months since leaving York City RTC, sixteen-year-old Jess Park received her senior Manchester City Women's debut against Doncaster Rovers Belles on Wednesday evening.

The South Hunsley student replaced England international Izzy Christiansen after 70 minutes of their 3-2 Continental Cup tie victory at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The visitors had earlier gone in front courtesy of Claire Emslie's early strike, until Jess Sigsworth equalised with a deflected shot soon after the interval.

However, City reclaimed their advantage through Scotland international Jane Ross before Georgia Stanway swiftly made it 3-1 inside an hour.

Christie Murray replied for the hosts with fifteen minutes remaining, but it couldn't deny a winning start for newcomer Park, who recently struck five goals for England Under-17s as a York City RTC player before joining the FA Women's Super League champions in October.
