City want to retain Boro youngster
York City are keen to retain the services of on loan Middlesbrough youngster Alex Pattison for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old midfielder has already shown plenty of attacking potential while helping the Minstermen towards back-to-back victories over bottom club North Ferriby United across the Christmas period.
"There has been a change of manager now at Boro and that might change things," assistant manager Dave Penney told The Press. "He's also enjoying it here and everyone can see he's a good footballer.
"He won't want to go back to under-23 football now and we've spoke to Craig Liddle, who looks after him at Middlesbrough and he is quite happy for him to stay here," he revealed. "We've just got to get the OK from the manager [Tony Pulis] who has just gone in and hasn't seen him yet, but we'd like to extend his stay until the end of the season if possible."
The Minstermen also want to keep hold of fellow loanees Jonny Burn [Bristol Rovers] and Sean McAllister [Grimsby Town] as they continue to plot a concerted move up the table.
City are currently in ninth position and three points outside the play-offs ahead of visiting old rivals Darlington at the weekend.
