Tempest keen to avoid storm
Darlington director John Tempest has called for home fans to be on their best behaviour against York City this weekend.
The contest intriguingly witnesses current York boss Martin Gray returning to his former club along with recent ex-Quakers David Ferguson and Adam Bartlett.
Stockton-born Gray quit the north-east club in October having previously successfully led them to three promotions in five years, and then immediately returned to sign a couple of their leading players while also recruiting some of his backroom staff.
"I know that there are one or two issues regarding Martin's departure to York City," Tempest admitted to Darlington's official website. "But we mustn't forget that if it wasn't largely for Martin, then as a club we wouldn't be playing at this level of football. We have come a long way in a short space of time thanks to him.
"I really believe, and I am 100 per cent supported in this view by everyone involved in the running of the club and by Tommy [Wright] and his staff, that all Darlington fans should act graciously and respectfully towards Martin and all of the other people and players who used to be involved with our club," he added.
