Former loan defender moves on

Former loan defender moves on

Former York City loan defender Luke Hendrie has joined League One promotion hopefuls Shrewsbury Town from Premier League Burnley.

The 23-year-old has spent the first half of the campaign on loan to Bradford City, where he made eighteen appearances and for whom his father John once played.

But right-back Hendrie now moves to Shropshire on an eighteen-month contact and for an undisclosed fee.

He previously made eighteen appearances for the Minstermen during their fateful Football League relegation campaign of 2015-16, those in between similar temporary stays with Hartlepool United and Kilmarnock.
