Former defender keen to make mark
Former York City loan defender Mark Bower, now in charge of Bradford Park Avenue, is expecting a tough challenge on his return to Bootham Crescent this weekend.
The Minstermen already crushed his charges 5-0 earlier in the season despite being without the services of 24-goal leading scorer Jon Parkin on that occasion.
However, since then Avenue have enjoyed an impressively sharp rise up the table and are currently a single place and point higher than their hosts.
"We travel to York for one of the stand out fixtures for us this season," Bower told Park Avenue's official website. "They are a massive club to be playing at this level and were a Football League club only two seasons ago.
"Our 5-0 home defeat back in August is still fresh in the memory and I know that applies to the players also, so we know that if our standards are not where they should be we could be in for a long afternoon," he warned. "But we have plenty of Football League experience in our dressing room and we have thrived at some of the bigger grounds this season."
The visitors already have numerous connections with their weekend opponents as Nicky Wroe, Adam Boyes and Oli Johnson are currently on their playing staff.
Meanwhile, ex-City boss Terry Dolan is their Director of Football, and former winger Alex Meechan, Academy Manager.
