City finally win without Parkin goals
York City's spectacular 5-3 victory at AFC Telford United last night was the first time in more than four months they've won a game in which leading marksman Jon Parkin hasn't scored.
On that occasion the Minstermen accounted for former Football League rivals Stockport County 2-0 courtesy of first-half goals from Simon Heslop and Amari Morgan-Smith.
Skipper Sean Newton scored twice at the New Bucks Head to increase his total for the season to seven, while both Adriano Moke and Jonny Burn doubled their own tallies. There was also a first goal for the club from latest arrival Raul Correia.
It was the second time City have netted five goals away this season, having also done so at Bradford Park Avenue on the second weekend of the campaign.
Indeed York have now scored in all sixteen fixtures under manager Martin Gray's leadership, although they have still recorded just a single clean-sheet since his appointment in October.
His sixteen matches have produced a combined total of 63 goals, with 36 scored and 27 conceded, at an average of just under four-per-game.
