Video: 'I love York City' - Moke
Three-time Wembley winning midfielder Adriano Moke has expressed his eternal love for York City after signing a new extended deal at Bootham Crescent.
The 28-year-old Portuguese-born playmaker who rejoined the Minstermen from Boreham Wood fourteen months ago is now contracted to the club until the end of next season - and he couldn't be happier.
"I love this club and working under the gaffer [Martin Gray]," Moke told The Press. "This club should be really in the Football League. When it was in League Two, it was near the play-offs and that's where we should be. It's a massive club.
"I'm proper delighted that I've signed and want to just keep doing what I've been doing and helping the team hopefully get where they want. And hopefully stay here for a long time.
"People look at it and say 'Mokes' should have been at a higher level," he admitted. "But I am happy at York City. It's a fantastic club, a family club. Ever since I signed when I was younger, I knew York was a family club. I love it here.
"My brother said if you had the chance to finish your career at York, would you? And I said I don't see why not because I love this club. They are making a new stadium and hopefully I do well and stay here.
"Obviously if the gaffer's here, I'd love to keep working with him because he's a big part of why I signed," Moke added. "He's made me the player that I am now.
"I want to be here as long as I can. I look at someone like Dan Parslow, he's been here for years and I want to be remembered as somebody who gave it all for York City. That's what I want to be remembered as."
