Midfielder fined following comment

Midfielder fined following comment

Midfielder Adriano Moke has been fined and warned by the club about his future conduct following a comment made on his social media account.

The 28-year-old reacted to direct online criticism from a supporter following the weekend debacle at Curzon Ashton by stating he was "just a fan", which prompted immediate outrage from within the fanbase.

Manager Martin Gray has instantly clamped down on his actions while serving a definite warning for the player going forward.

"I will not tolerate that sort of behaviour from any player at this football club," he told York's official website. "Adriano may have been emotional after a poor performance by the team on Saturday but that does not excuse his comments.

"As a York City player, you are representing the club and the wider community and you need to maintain high standards. Adriano accepts that his comments fell below those standards."
