Moke apologises to City fans

Adriano Moke has issued a heartfelt apology to York City supporters following recent online comments.

The 28-year-old midfielder reacted to weekend criticism after the disastrous 4-1 Curzon Ashton defeat by claiming to one follower that he was "just a fan", which brought immediate outcries from a number of fellow supporters.

The Minstermen have since reacted by fining the player and warning him about his future conduct.

Posting on his own social media account earlier this evening, Moke responded: "I would like to apologise for my recent behaviour to one of the fans. Sometimes things don't go the way we want them to go and we have bad days that can go from bad to worse.

"I am a very passionate person and also emotional and my attitude and behavious came from that place.

"I wish I didn't delete the Instagram DM [private direct message] I received threatening my little girl and family," he added.

"I want to apologise to all the York City fans for my recent behaviour, my deeply and sincere apologies."
